Popular options include the Fremington Quay walk, which follows the Tarka Trail and offers views of the estuary, and the Fremington Edge walk, known for its panoramic views and historical significance.

instow beach
Instow Beach is a sandy, sheltered beach located on the estuary of the rivers Taw and Torridge, offering views across to the village of Appledore. It's a superb dog walking beach, with access to the adjacent Tarka Trail and South West Coast Path.

fremington local nature reserve
Fremington Local Nature Reserve, part of the UNESCO-designated North Devon Biosphere Reserve, is a haven for both people and wildlife. It includes two peaceful areas - Lovell’s Field and Leat Meadow - and can be reached on foot from the Tarka Trail or by bike via Fremington Quay into the village centre.

surfing & watersports
We have plenty of incredible beaches in the surrounding area, such as Saunton Sands and Westward Ho!, both ideal for surfing and watersports. Surf Saunton is located at Saunton Sands beach and provides surf lessons for groups or individuals. Surf SUP Academy is based in Westward Ho! and provides surf lessons, as well as paddleboarding lessons and coasteering sessions.

Woolacombe Riding Stables is a BHS and Pony Club approved centre, set in the heart of the Woolacombe valley.
