Dez Turland is an experienced private chef based in Devon, offering bespoke menus and full-service luxury dining experiences at Picketts Barton Spa.

 

Dez is known for his passion for seasonal South West produce and for creating memorable meals for special occasions.

As part of your stay at Picketts Barton Spa, Dez brings the restaurant experience to you. Choose from an indulgent 3, 5, or 7-course tasting menu, a relaxed BBQ feast, elegant afternoon tea, or a traditional Sunday lunch - all prepared and served on-site. Every dish is tailored to your tastes and made using the finest local ingredients, turning your private dining into a highlight of your retreat.

Dez began his career at the prestigious Ritz Hotel in London, training under Michael Quinn MBE. He went on to launch The Alverton Manor Hotel in Cornwall, where his cuisine quickly earned national recognition. Subsequent Head Chef roles led to multiple accolades, including 4-star ratings and AA rosettes.

Most recently, Dez served as Group Development Chef for the Brend Hotel Group, overseeing 11 hotels, 2 restaurants, and a brigade of over 75 chefs. His ongoing collaboration with farmers, fishermen, and artisan producers ensures every plate celebrates the very best of the South West.
